2028 is long way off yet, but I’m going to go out on a limb and say that Gretchen Whitmer is basically out of the running as the Democrat nominee for the next election. Last Tuesday along with 2016 proved that woman candidates are reliably disastrous for the Democrats and the last thing they want is to lose 4 of these things in a row.
