in a community of government employees in northern Virginia in the 1970s, we all took civics classes! I haven’t heard of anyone taking civics in public school since I moved away. I think it’s essential that all Americans understand how their government is SUPPOSED to work,and that they learn to appreciate it when it does, and to take responsibility for it.
