All good, I might have come across a bit more heated than I intended haha. Still, I would have to say that it's a major stretch of Scripture to claim such. The Bible shows us that Jesus does want us to be partakers in the divine nature, but not that we are supposed to become more enlightened or become deities or anything of the like. We were once dead and wretched sinners, without a future, and through salvation the Father adopts us as sons. We are princes to His kingship as it were: not one in the same, but being raised to follow in His footsteps.

At the end of the day, even once believers receive their perfected (glorified) bodies, we are still the created beings under submission to an uncreated God. We will lose many of our physical restrictions, but we will still be limited in our understanding and our capabilities in spirit. We will learn and grow for eternity, but we will not be deified. Likewise, we will be appointed as priests and kings over creation, but we will not become gods ourselves.

The reason I take issue with the statement you originally made is because it raises humans above where we're supposed to be. While we are the crown jewel of all creation, we are not above the Creator, nor are we even remotely equal with the Creator. We are still creation and we always will be even after we're transformed. Even the glorious angels worship Him as a being so far beyond them that it's not possible to even begin to comprehend His mysteries.
