Big props to the French Constitutional Council for stopping the recent police surveillance law. This thing would have let the police film or record people without their knowledge or consent if they were but suspected of a crime (provided a judge granted that right too), but it was deemed way too intrusive for privacy and disproportionate.
Glad to see there’s still a tiny bit of reason floating somewhere, at least for that specific law.
