Ok, linguistics(?) people, how would you write the word “boogie” so phonetically so it’s pronounced how it is by singers?
Like, I just heard a French song and the person was saying “Boo Gi,” like a ghost doing karate.
But the “oo” in boogie is closer to an ‘uh’ sound (but not fully — it’s not like “dune buggy”).
How do you write that?
