the #catstr Mochi has stinked up this thing enough that he now is happy to sit in it

i did repeatedly lure him to eat tasty treats on it so it also smells like tasty treats and his slobber

two major remaining challenges are toilet and the new scratching post, i probably need to study more about cat training, the tasty treats seem to be very effective

he also has developed a tendency to latch on to whatever is under him if i try to pick him up and don't prevent this response by holding his wrists (lower middle of the leg, cat's feet are very long and they walk on their toes) because doing that prevents him from extending his claws... but in general, he's got an aversion to being picked up so this is probably another challenge i have to deal with

mostly it's about staying calm and being insistent about something and eventually if it makes sense he does it, he just only learns anything really from actually experiencing it... something that humans are not good with... maybe because we are too vulnerable for so much of our first several years that we learn to be passive
