The core problem with iOS is not app store censorship, it's the lack of user admin access to an OS.
No root access, no ownership. If EU wants to fix gate keeping, you must fix the right of OS ownership on hardware you own.
A big problem of the open source jailbreaking movement a decade ago was the lack of funding and business models. A travesty TBH, and one we all took an L for. The devs eventually had fiat jobs, went to work for Apple, or just simply burnt out.
