I've given a long thought to setting up a Lemmy instance, and I've decided not to for now. The reasons being:
a) I think this is less Woodstock (If you build it, they will come) and more Moses (follow me into the desert). I'm not deeply involved in a Reddit community, so it would feel very presumptuous for me to set something up.
b) They're very hot right now with some very active development, and would benefit from very focused curation (time I don't have right now).
