Richard Rollinson (npub1fqf…ajkk) I just realized, friend, that I’ve been following your corn growing advice but I have no idea about post-harvest. What do you do with the stalks? You’re a till guy, I think. Do you rip out all the plants after the corn is done?
What about the no till / no dig styles? Does anybody, I don’t know, just leave the dead stalks over winter, for the wildlife? What if I don’t have a wood chipper, do I just use the stalks as the base of a new compost pile or what? I bet they’d hugelkultur really fast, but I don’t have any holes ready to inter them.
