Whenever I record guitar I've taken to snapping a quick photo of the settings on my phone. I don't even bother labelling or tagging it: I can usually find it by date if I need it.

And today the attached shot saved me re-recording an entire complex guitar line. We'd inserted a bar and needed to re-record one chord and let it ring without cutting it off. I matched the settings and ... bang! Perfetto.
