It is very common for parents to tearfully tell their autistic kid they don't like them or think they're a mean person. Most autistic kids practically want to off themselves after every meltdown due to guilt from being out of control, but then parents pour salt in the wound by reflecting back on events with the same judgment as if a neurotypical adult had been engaging with them that way.
