Simple way to improve your quality of life at work is to make video calls into audio-only conference calls. It lets you get up and walk around during them, so you can pay more attention (no computer distractions) and not worry about your appearance and what else might show up on camera.
Audio is great and most meetings have no presentation materials. Use audio!
