i tried doing a vm like that,, i did it on amd too and it worked well enough,, but if ur killing ur user session in linux anyway ur not preserving anything that was running,, running windows on bare metal not only slightly improves performance and input latency but also allows certain software that could refuse to run in a vm to never complain,,

tho i am considering lately making a windows vm just to run non graphics intensive games on software rendering,, bc running a vm *is* faster and easier than rebooting,, but only if yu keep ur user session,,
