In fact, now that I think of it, even #3 is debatable, since the concept of bifurcations has been left out. Input can be treated as a bifurcation parameter (and often is, for single-cell dynamical systems analysis), in which case there is no guarantee that the system will stay in the same state when the input is removed. That is a useful feature for something that has to serve as working memory, but sometimes you want fidelity to the time dynamics of the input.
