Bernard Hickey has made another of his subscription-only Substack newsletters available to all. This one details why "rents don’t rise or fall with landlords’ costs", despite Luxon's assertions otherwise. Hickey presents various evidence-based studies which say why Luxon is flat out wrong. It's a comprehensive rebuttal of why rents won't fall just because landlords have more money in their pockets. We all knew this of course, but Hickey gives us the facts.
