Battery technology hasn't had a major development in over a hundred years.
Electric cars were a thing before internal combustion engine was discovered.
Sure they've discovered membranes and different elements to increase charge speed, charge longevity, temperature stability.
but there's never been a breakthrough yet for real change.
short term drone flights, sure
battery planes or helicopter for humans.

I'm still waiting for major electric storage of power or battery operated large output devices.
