#bluesky is not decentralized like email. that's the federated model of #ActivityPub. the mediated model of #ATproto would be like all emails ever sent going thru gmail servers, but also being able to store your inbox and outbox somewhere else with whatever address you want. if gmail servers go down, nobody would be able to send an email anywhere. exactly what we've seen with bluesky network issues. this doesn't happen to actually decentralized email or mastodon servers.
