Very well written article, you are by far the most talented group expert imo. You know how to get your feet dirty with mud. Flotilla is a very well worked out client with rooms / groups. But I also think there is a place for just a single relay group chat, so maybe the rooms could be optional? Like having different modi how you can operate a community group on a relay.

Somewhere I also can see your implementation could exist in a seperate NIP. There is overlap, but imo smaller NIPs are easier to understand, implement and maintain on the long-term. And with the simplicity offered by Nostr is a very usp.
