This will be a mitten. The yarn is so old it was purchased from WEBS when that company was mail order only (sent periodic mailings with yarn snip samples, and was primarily focused on weaving yarns.) Each color is two strands of relatively coarse 2-ply Shetland wool. The color pattern comes from a book of Ukrainian mitten patterns.
The yarn will bloom some when washed.
