If someone can only see me with that label, here in my small town, it tells me how that interaction is gonna go. (Shallowly and weirdly.) It may be OK for the TV pundit generals and admirals in context of why they’re on air.

OTOH, if someone insists on being called by their former title all the time, they have a personal problem and should get some help.
