That word, 'catholic,' simply means 'universal' and is not exclusive to the _Roman_ catholic denomination. It belongs, at the very least, to all who confess the Apostles' Creed (which I do).
I picked a side, as did the Protestant Reformers, and we sided with Augustine. 😉
