It's always bemusing to me, as though this is a choice.

The only choice left is reduce emission s by collapsing the economy (preferably by the wealthy doing all the emitting) ,

OR

we collapse civilization. It's amazing to me we've deliberately chosen the latter becase we so hate cycling we'll destroy the world.

We've left it so long there's no time for an ordely transition with nonsense like ecars, we need something like 10% a year reduction each year for a decade (way in excess of the 8% we saw under Covid)
