https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=40370190 (node-ldapjs is being decommissioned because the developer got harassed and is fed up, something I can relate to having had to block openbsd.org from emailing me after Theo and some of his friends went lizardman conspiracy theory attack on me).
A common thread seems to be victim blaming, followed by "why are the victims leaving? they just need to toughen up and realize that if you deal with humanity you have to deal with assholes".
TL;DR: You don't need to deal with assholes. Isn't that why most of us left Twitter/X for the fediverse?
