If 'affordability' in housing is seen as a house costing less than 5x your annual income (recalling that in 1960s/70s the average multiple was around 3x), then only those in the highest income decile (the top 10% of earners actually are able to access 'affordable' housing;
for everyone else it is just varying levels of unafforability shading into impossibility..... this is the stark reality of our housing crisis;
Either wages need to radically rise or house prices radically fall!
