Understood. I'm banking on OSU's tsunami-savvy architecture and NOAA's massive investment there to survive sufficiently to anchor emergency operations – IF ships can get in. Otherwise, there'll be only one access point for a 300-mile coastline (Reedsport) – and, again, the coast highway will be broken into 500 isolated segments.
(I think about this a lot because we're thinking of moving to Newport. At a minimum, I'd insist on living on bedrock, near the hospital in town, above the inundation zone but not far from the bay. And I'd probably stockpile basic building supplies in a shed: pvc, wire, nails/screws, tarps, sacks of concrete, etc., because those won't be available there for YEARS.)
