I'm going to respectfully disagree. Any logo you can *type* is not a logo. It's not made with a font you own. It's not in any way a core part of your identity. There's nothing transformative. And a black box behind it doesn't fix that. You can define a background color to a span tag easily.
You could argue the same about the Capcom logo, but they at least made strides to throw some outlines around their Jeopardy! font, usually try to make it a bit 3D, etc.
Google owns their logo because there is very specific kerning to it measured in pixels that they custom defined.
*Final Fantasy* always has art behind their serif font. That is essential to the logo.
Mozilla did not have a logo. They just had a workaround for installing a font on your machine.
