The responses on social media seem to say more about those adding unsubstantiated commentary or statements to suit their own politics than they can possibly know about the person who did it.
Including wanting to see their own profile under a trending topic.
The main way to know someone's motivation for acts on the day is to ask them, and even that is subject to checking consistency with their background history, and whether they believe some higher calling directed them to act.
