Polarization seems so difficult to approach though. I can be seen as evil by two sides of an issue. I want to have more of an impact. I want people to see things with more nuance. I want people to be more skeptical of information they take in.
Even at a local or personal relationship level, it can be discouraging. But standing on the outside of a conversation and watching it devolve sucks too.
Perhaps I need to get more comfortable with smaller influences on conversation.
