The "having it all" mantra has been distorted.
Initially it meant: "No-one bats an eyelid at the idea that a man could have marriage, a child and a career. So why should it be considered such a weird idea for a woman to want all three?"
Now it's been misinterpreted as "wanting the moon on a stick."
Important qualifier - women ought to be able to have all three of these, but in practice you usually have to choose which two out of three are important to you. I went for child and career, and the more relationships around me I look at, the more I think I made the right decision.
