For Throwback Thursday...
Exactly 15 years ago, I snapped a picture of a surfer as he came out of the water at Ocean Beach. I did the usual introductions, his name was Julian, he was a photographer, a really nice guy...
Long story short, I used the photo of Julian as an exercise in a Photoshop class I was teaching (a lesson on layers and textures), posted it in a blog, and the San Francisco Bay Guardian asked to use the photo on the cover of their weekly newspaper. With Julian's permission, I said yes, got enough money to pay for lunch, and ended up with a head so swollen I couldn't fit through a doorway.
Anyway, here's "heavily processed Julian," my first and only cover picture in print.
