Interesting development from #DeutscheTelekom: they are getting into #bitcoin mining by utilising excess energy from renewables. This relates to a point I made some time ago about Bitcoin effectively being a kind of virtual energy store. By that I mean energy can be encoded into value, which can then be later used to purchase energy when needed (or when energy prices make that sensible).
Gold was the currency of the world, but increasingly energy now is.
