You know, I did that with a bunch of literal white supremacists the other day and they told me the exact same thing. They did, however, explain stuff I asked them, anyway. Not much point in talking if you're just gonna pat the other members of your echo chamber on the back.
I think the issue is not the bigotry or the rights or the LGBT, it's the assumption that everyone comes here with a pre-formed opinion and that anyone actually cares what others think.
Playing dumb is just a rhetorical method, if you feel someone is not talking in good faith, that's it. No need to be rude to people telling them they "don't need to get it", that's the whole reason to communicate in the first place. Otherwise wtf are we doing here?
