Last night I ran pkg upgrade on my laptop when video crashed (still had console access) and rebooting caused same issue. My Xorg got corrupted possibly due to a mesa driver update install issue? Good thing I bectl created a new snapshot first. I was able to recover, created a new snapshot, reinstalled and no problems now.
