Besides being black, Denzel is too old to play Hannibal imo. Hannibal was 29 at the onset of the Second Punic War and died at 64. Denzel is 68. From what I understand the movie will just focus on the Second Punic War so I doubt we'll get old Bithiniya Admiral Hannibal where you could maybe justify it.

Consequently, I also felt like Joaquin was too old to play Napoleon but hes 49 and Napoelon died at 51 and I do think that movie will run the gamut from the Revolution to St. Helena.

The good news is the historic epic is probably making a comeback now that capeshit is flaming out.
