Per my last boost: but WHY is the country so lacking that moral compass? Part of it is because half the country has been drowning in a swirling cesspool of extreme right wing disinformation for almost three decades, due to many regulatory and judicial failures which are themselves due to extreme right wing expansion in government, which itself is in part due to changes in how television is regulated and how money in politics is regulated.

It's a gigantic self-licking ice cream cone of corruption that gets worse and worse and continuously compounds itself. Reply guys can take it much farther back in history but in more recent history what we see is an acceleration of the swirl due to the media capture and the dark money.
