Some news publications allow a subscriber to post a gift link on social media to share with non-subscribers, typically there are limits to how many of these you can share. Other publications offer no gift links at all. A model I would like to see to replace subscription paywalls is an inexpensive a la cart model where a non subscriber could buy access to a story for a small fee ( $.25 Maybe? ) through apple or android payments. Is there a good reason this wouldn’t work?
