Of course, it isn't all to be deplored. Long acquaintance with myself - the fruit of solitude - has revealed to myself my flaws.. but also my virtues. I can behold myself, to a degree that any man has clear vision, in a fairly objective light, examine myself, as a scientist observes a moth, or ant under a microscope. I have come to conclusion I'm a stone-cold psychopath, unfortunately, who cannot really empathize with my own species, but did that come before the solitude, or was it caused by it?
