Want to know how to onboard the normies to BTC? Heres how this normie was orangepilled.
I met a miner in 2014. I already understood the "what" of #bitcoin, knowing people who shaped on silk road, but he taught me, in non technical language, the "why".
1. People in developing parts of the world, often with limited/no literacy skills can have their ancestral homes, farms and land taken by predatory corporations because they can't prove ownership. Bitcoin fixes this.
2. People see war, famine, drought happening and want to help. NGOs response is slow at best. Corrupt at worst. Bitcoin fixes this.
3. Banking corruption, from the 2007 crash then, now inflation is taking the food from your, and your babies, mouths. Bitcoin fixes ths
4. 2 billion people worldwide (and recently growing in the west) means no access to financial products. Bitcoin fixs this.
5. Remittance payments. Some of the poorest people in the world travel abroad for work and send money back to their families. Companies like western union take an obscene fee, especially on smaller amounts. Bitcoin fixs this.
I only met this guy once, we spoke for hours on a rooftop in Peru. I'd love to meet him again and thank him. I bet he's here on #nostr
