Birch and Pine, Torridon 2023.

I think there's a wonderful story layered into this photograph about the possibility of pioneering birch trees and regeneration of the old Caledonian Pinewoods. The birch were in their shocking magenta winter coat; some nice rain created separation between the pines and the distant hillside.
