When some people think “open source” they think of huge projects that come out of huge companies and organizations. React, Kubernetes, Apache, the Linux kernel. When I think “open source” I think of one person trying to do their best in their tiny apartment.
These worlds have nothing in common with each other, and I hate when they get conflated.
