Yeah that's a major culture clash and I think that's a part of why Bluesky pulled people in real quickly. People used to Twitter (2017 or so) and can handle that are gonna go for that, I think those used to Tumblr would've gone for fedi/Mastodon or Cohost.

I wish there was a way for fedi instances to broadcast remote instances' rules in the UI. I think that might help newcomers who genuinely want to try.
