I wonder if there is some sort of objective measure for the amount of phenotype variation within a single species.
For example brocoli, as we all know, takes wildly different forms within the same species. This is common among some plants, even going so far as to allowing variations in ploidity.
But even among mamals there seems to be difference in variation. Dogs for example seem to have more variation than humans, at least outwardly.
