I just posted an issue on the Mastodon GitHub pointing out some of the inconsistencies in the margins and spacing on the web UI.
I hope it gets taken seriously as a 'bug' and not a 'suggestion' because - and we should put this on a t-shirt - design bugs are real bugs too!
