Fundamentally, it's a free will debate. I would definitely agree that humanity needs to have some ideology and believe in finding the meaning in order to upkeep this social construct we've successfully built over the years, which has provided us with so many advancements and population growth, thus increasing our chance to survive as a species. Seeking for meaning and asking questions also seems to be inscribed into us.
