I joined #BlueskyATProtocol just before the rush. Someone on exTwitter said they had an address there, so I followed the link and decided to try it. Couple of weeks later they started getting a million a week, and I had a rush of notifications of new followers, most of whom have little in common, so I haven't followed them back yet -- I'll only do so if they interact with something I've posted there, which will show that they're interested.

The biggest plus point there is theoretical -- unlike exTwitter, they don't penalise posts with links in them. The ability to post links as in microblogging was one of the things that made Twitter attractive in the first place, and the penalising of them is one of the things that makes X unattractive now.

I'll see how it works out, but so far for actual interaction the Fediverse is marginally better.
