I'd say the fundamental problem is that trying to pay with Bitcoin anywhere is seen as something like to watch an America pay with Australian dollars in Lisbon. Most people look at you like wtf can they do with that? Pay me! And it comes off as outright rude.
My strategy is to just be like "I've got what I need to financially float, if anyone wants to hire me now, I will only work for Bitcoin."
Joke's on me though, I'm unemployed.
