It would really come down to personal opinion of what a perfect monetary solution is. Some might argue that it is not perfect since most BTC has been through KYC and many wallets are blacklisted sincec associated with ransomware or thefts. Therefore can track BTC if you are the IRS or some other sleuth using chain analysis. So fungibility is one argument hear a lot. People can get around this but is a big effort to do so in most cases. This is also true of most any public ledger blockchains. Or some might make the digs on PoW, exchanges, scalability aside from Lightning, etc. Some could also say PoS is better in some ways but the tradeoff is centralizing control. Tezos for example is upgradable by means of consensus. So not saying any of this is better/worse than BTC but is a very nuanced discussion to navigate. Many BTC maximalists will say everything is a shitcoin other than BTC. Which could be true or not. Lightning is a good example of building on top of BTC as L2 protocol.

If technologies never improved we'd still be using 56k modems, Gopher, and Fortran. 😁
