Generate a Cashu token, copy it, send it, and redeem it by pasting. This feels like magic. It's the digital form of handing someone cash. There’s something special about taking real world methods and incorporating them into digital interfaces.
I was inspired to look into the history of copy and paste. It was invented by a dude named Larry Tesler who sadly passed away a few years ago. Interestingly he drew inspiration from a real world method, an old printing technique of physically cutting and pasting text.
The more I read about Larry Tesler the more amazed I am. He was responsible for so much of how we interact with computers. He should be celebrated more. This anecdote of Larry showing Steve Jobs how a mouse could be used instead of typing a command back in 1974 is incredible.
