Even creating a concept for a videogame gets a lot more deeper and complex than I thought.
I'm still not even sure if I want to go 2D isometric like Baldur's Gate or 3D like Dungeon Siege.
I first thought 3D, but that seemed too complex. Then 2D, but the amount of sprites required seemed prohibitive. But now I learned Godot can auto-generate 2D sprites from animated 3D models, so 2D looks much easier again. 😅
3D would allow for a climbing mechanic and stunning skyboxes, though.
