it’s an interesting problem. we often mistake interactivity with mechanical response, and end up with the urban equivalent of baby activity boxes. i’ve been thinking about what interactivity means (in the context of game design), and have turned to the architectural theories of christopher alexander. the theoretical frameworks in gaming are almost all mechanico-cognition, and have no real understanding of human joy in spaces
